This one sounds like a obvious one but believe it or not a lot of people do not save their change. This is another way to save money without you even realizing that you are putting money away.

Sounds like something that’s too simple to save money right. Believe it or not doing small things such as changing out your light bulbs can save you money in the long run.

5. Change you air filters in your home frequently.

Changing your air filters when you should will help take some of the strain off your central unit. Which in return will save on your electric bill. If you have pets I would change it more often because of the animal hair.

This one sounds like a obvious one. I see it every day and more times than none I also hear “Well I’ve been wanting it for a while” or “I got it at a good price”. Ok yeah I understand you got it at a good price but think about the money you would have saved if you didn’t but it at all.

Really seriously think, do you really really need or want that item. Say you do, OK that’s fine. Wait for it to go on sale and use coupons, promo codes, and rebate programs to save even more money.

11. Trade babysitting.

Find some moms or maybe even your own family that would be interested in switch a couples days out the month and baby sit each others kids. This is a win-win for everyone. It will help put money back in your pocket and them some in theirs as well. No need to pay for a baby sitter anymore.

12. D.I.Y.

D.i.y. to me is one of the top money saving habits to put money back in your pocket. You can create, make and do so many things yourself. Why buy hair wax and face scrubs when you can make it at home. Or why pay to have your oil changed when you can d.i.y.

13. Bringing your lunch to work.

Bring food to work definitely helps your pockets out. Eating fast food 3-5 times a week can get very expensive. So why spend money at McDonalds when you can bring left overs from last night. Helps cut down waste on food too.

14. Keep track of your spending.

Last on the list. Keep track of your spending. You can’t save money when you don’t even know where your money is even going. Keep up with your banking accounts. I hear it all the time about people not knowing something was being taken out their bank account for months. That could be money you are flushing down the toilet.
